The Men’s Group meets monthly on the 3rd Sunday, at 7:30 am. We start the morning by cooking breakfast and enjoying the fellowship of working in the kitchen together. We eat breakfast and adjourn for Bible study and prayer.

Our goal is to grow our faith, support one another, and make a positive impact on the world around us. Our group is rooted in the values of brotherhood, spiritual development, and service to others. Our doors are open to men of all ages and backgrounds.

We understand the unique challenges and opportunities that men face in today's world. Through engaging discussions and meaningful activities, we seek to provide a safe space for personal and spiritual growth.

Our gatherings are filled with camaraderie, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. We believe that no man should journey alone, and that by coming together in fellowship, we can strengthen each other and make a difference in our families, workplaces, and communities. Whether it's through our monthly meetings, special events, or community outreach projects, we strive to live out our faith and be positive role models in the world.

If you are searching for a group of like-minded men who will support you, challenge you, and walk alongside you on your spiritual journey, we invite you to join us. Together, let us grow stronger in our faith, build friendships, and make a lasting impact as men of God.

Annual Skeet Shoot

October 12, 2024

The men of Weddington Missionary Baptist Church gathered on Saturday, October 12, for their annual men's skeet shoot. The event took place at Jim Honea’s property, offering a day of fellowship, fun, and friendly competition.

The day started with a pistol competition followed by the skeet shooting competition. The bright orange of the foliage made it difficult to see the orange clay pigeons against the backdrop of the fall colors of the trees.

Lunch was provided by Mary, Jim’s wife. As they ate the lunch of grilled burgers, Bro. Paul England gave a devotional on “Why we love the Lord.”

The guests were the ones to win the competition for the second year in a row. They were Frank Fullerton; a co-worker of Bro. Paul, and his son Frank Jr.

Faith and Fellowship: Men's Group Hosts a Thrilling Skeet Shoot Event

October 14, 2023

The men's group at Weddington Missionary Baptist Church, known for its interesting bonding activities, decided to break the mold and organize a unique event to bring its members closer. Skeet shooting, a popular recreational sport, provided the perfect opportunity for fellowship and friendly competition. To make it even more interesting, they added handguns to the mix, creating a diverse range of challenges and activities.

Jim Honea hosted the event Saturday, October 14th at a nearby shooting range. Participants gathered with enthusiasm and a sense of camaraderie, ready to test their skills in skeet shooting, handgun target practice, and archery. While safety was a top priority, the competitive spirit was high, with participants of all skill levels eager to take part.

Skeet shooting was undoubtedly the main attraction of the day. Participants used shotguns to break flying clay targets. The addition of handguns to the event added a thrilling dynamic. With various targets set up at different distances, participants were able to showcase their accuracy and composure.

Beyond the competitions and shooting challenges, the event served as a platform for the men to strengthen their bonds, share stories, and deepen their faith together. The men enjoyed a lunch of burgers and sides to round out the day. Everyone agreed they were looking forward to next year!

This event serves as a reminder that faith can be a source of joy, connection, and personal growth, even in unexpected places like a shooting range on a sunny Saturday morning.
