Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock and graduated from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport with his bachelor’s degree (1983), master’s degree (1989) and doctorate (1990), all in theology.
He and his wife Sue Ann have been married 40 years and have two grown children, Thomas and Rachel. Sue Ann has been a vital part of Gene’s ministry throughout their marriage, serving as a choir member, Awana Director, Nursery Worker, Sunday School Teacher, visitation partner and counselor. She is recently retired from Arkansas Public Schools and has a genuine love for Christ and people in general.
Bro. Gene comes to us from First Baptist in Greenland, Arkansas. A conservative Southern Baptist Church. The church has multiple ministries and outreach to the community. He began serving there in 2016.
Prior to this he served at Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas as Senior Pastor for nearly 18 years. During those years the church received over 800 new members. He worked with a church staff consisting of Music Minister, Youth Minister, Assistant Pastor, church secretary and multiple church custodians.
He has served as President of the Baptist Missionary Association of Arkansas for two years (2008-2010) and Chairman of Trustees for the Association of Baptist Students for the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. In addition, he has served as a trustee for the church encampment in Northwest Arkansas for 13 years where he wrote adult and teen lessons. He has also served on the Missions Advisory Committee of the Association for 3 years.
Quoting Bro. Fulcher’s goals, “My heartfelt desire is to exalt the Lord, edify believers, and evangelize the lost. I am committed to doing these three things where I am, and wherever the Lord may lead in the future. My passion is knowing Christ fully, and my purpose is to make Him known to others. God has placed on my heart a desire to give myself first to Him, to my family, my church and my community wherever that is, for the remainder of my life.”
We are thrilled to welcome Gene and Sue Ann to the Weddington Family and look forward to many years of service together.
